Two Washington Men Sentenced to 70 Years for Production and Distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Material

SPOKANE, WA — Two Washington men have been sentenced to 70 years in federal prison following their convictions on multiple child exploitation charges, including production and distribution of child sexual abuse material. The sentencing took place in U.S. District Court on May 27, 2025.

Tony J. Bolen, 44, and Casey Allen Greer, 48, were convicted in November 2024 after a jury found both men guilty of producing child pornography, conspiring to produce child pornography, and committing felony sex offenses while required to register as sex offenders. Greer was additionally sentenced for distribution of child pornography, and Bolen for receipt and transportation of child pornography.

U.S. District Judge Mary K. Dimke handed down the maximum sentence of 70 years to each defendant, followed by a life term of supervised release. Greer was also ordered to pay $18,500 in restitution to victims. Both men were assessed $5,000 under the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act.

According to court documents, the crimes occurred between October and December 2021. Investigators found that Greer began abusing a minor in May 2021, and in coordination with Bolen, produced and shared images and videos of the abuse. Evidence presented at trial included text messages in which Bolen directed Greer on how to carry out and record specific acts of abuse. Messages also revealed that Greer used sedatives in attempts to subdue the child.

At the time of the offenses, both Bolen and Greer were registered sex offenders with prior convictions in Washington State for child molestation.

During sentencing, Judge Dimke described the crimes as “heinous” and said the 70-year sentences were intended to ensure neither defendant would ever return to the community. Addressing the victim and family directly, Dimke said, “You are strong. You are brave…this does not define you. You have a very bright future ahead of you.”

Acting U.S. Attorney Richard R. Barker stated, “The defendants’ actions in this case were nothing short of horrific… Because of [the prosecution’s] extraordinary dedication, Mr. Bolen and Mr. Greer will never again have the opportunity to harm another child.”

Assistant U.S. Attorney Ann Wick praised the victim’s bravery, saying, “Their courage in this case has ensured that two repeat sex offenders will no longer have the chance to harm innocent children.”

The investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations, the Washington State Patrol, and the Spokane Police Department under the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Ann T. Wick and Laurel J. Holland.

The prosecution falls under Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative focused on combating child sexual exploitation and abuse. More information is available at justice.gov/psc.
