LEWISTON, ID – Nearly five years after JCPenney shuttered its doors at the Lewiston Center, a new tenant is preparing to breathe new life into the retail space.
Hobby Lobby, a national arts-and-crafts retailer, will officially open its doors at the shopping center on June 9, according to Lewiston Center management. The store will occupy the 50,000 square foot location left vacant since JCPenney’s departure.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Hobby Lobby to the Lewiston Center. Their arrival brings not only a beloved national brand to our community, but also new energy and opportunity for the Lewiston Center and the region as a whole. This addition enhances the shopping experience for our residents and visitors, while supporting local jobs and economic growth. It’s a big win for Lewiston, and we’re proud to be part of it,” said Lewiston Center Manager Billy Jeffrey Scharnhorst.
Headquartered in Oklahoma, Hobby Lobby bills itself as the world’s largest privately owned arts-and-crafts retailer. The chain offers more than 80,000 products, including supplies for floral arrangements, fabric and needle arts, custom framing, home décor, scrapbooking, jewelry making, and party planning.
Lewiston store hours will be Monday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. In line with company policy, the store will be closed on Sundays.
