AAA Issues Summer Travel Tips as Cricket Swarms Return to Idaho Roads

BOISE, ID – With the return of summer weather, drivers in remote areas of Idaho may find themselves unexpectedly sharing the road with massive swarms of crickets. AAA is reminding motorists to prepare their vehicles and stay alert as swarming insects can pose safety risks.

“It’s an impressive sight, to say the least,” said Matthew Conde, public affairs director for AAA Idaho. “But thousands upon thousands of crickets scampering about on the road can be a little disconcerting. Fortunately, there are simple things you can do to navigate both the swarm itself and the aftermath.”

AAA recommends the following tips to help drivers safely navigate through cricket or cicada activity:
