ASOTIN, WA — The Asotin County Building and Planning Department has announced the end of the spring 2025 Controlled Burning period. According to Fire Marshal Karst Riggers, all controlled burning will be closed as of 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025.

The next Controlled Burning period is tentatively scheduled to begin on October 15, 2025, pending favorable conditions.

County officials are encouraging residents to use the Asotin County Regional Landfill’s free yard waste disposal program as an alternative to burning. For more information about the disposal program, the public is advised to contact the ACRL at 758-1965.
