Guelcher recognized as Idaho SBDC State Star

LEWISTON, ID – Lewis-Clark State College’s regional director of the North Central Idaho Small Business Development Center (SBDC), Kyle Guelcher, was recently awarded the Idaho Small Business Development Center State Star Award.

The award, which is peer-nomination based, was presented during the most recent Idaho SBDC professional development conference. According to the Idaho SBDC, it honors a team member who exemplifies their core values of service, respect, discovery, and perseverance.

“Our State Star represents the best of who we are at the Idaho SBDC,” said the Idaho SBDC State Office. “Being a great example of leadership and dedication that strengthens not only our network, but small business development across Idaho.”

Guelcher was selected from among 11 nominees across the Idaho SBDC network. Lauren Cooper, a recent graduate of LC State, and current junior business consultant with the Idaho SBDC, was listed alongside the other11 nominated members.

“Kyle is deeply committed to the Idaho SBDC mission, consistently volunteering for committees, supporting his team, and building strong connections,” said the Idaho SBDC. “His leadership, initiative, and dedication to small business development make him a standout member of the network.”

The SBDC’s mission is to support small businesses through an ever-changing landscape. As regional director, employed by LC State, Guelcher oversees all operations of the North Central Idaho SBDC.  He is responsible for the performance expectations set in the grant contracts. His primary objective is developing the program and leading the team to create and maintain impactful consulting relationships with existing and new small business clients and entrepreneurs.

“Kyle displays excellence in all that he does to manage, lead, and represent the SBDC regional office,” said LC State Interim Chair of the Business & Computer Science Division Jenny Scott. “He is deeply committed to the success of the programs and services, ensuring the highest level of expertise and quality in all areas of operations. Kyle has effectively developed a team of consultants and actively builds relationships with other economic development organizations and surrounding communities.”
