PULLMAN, WA – Whitman County deputies and EMS crews responded to a motorcycle crash on Wawawai Road near milepost 11 on Tuesday evening.

According to the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office, at about 5:30 p.m., the driver of the motorcycle failed to negotiate a corner – causing the motorcycle to leave the roadway and travel down an embankment.

Due to the impact from the collision, the motorcyclist was severely injured.  He was airlifted to St. Joseph Regional Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, Idaho.  He was later transferred to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing. Investigators believe speed was most likely a factor in the crash.
