Suspect Arrested in Wyoming for Attempted Murder in Clarkston Motel 6 Stabbing

CLARKSTON, WA –  A suspect has been arrested in connection to a stabbing that occurred at the Clarkston Motel 6 earlier this week.

Thomas R. Krogman, 68, of Gillette, Wyoming, was taken into custody by the Gillette Police Department around 1:05 p.m. Pacific Time on Wednesday. His arrest follows a warrant issued by the Asotin County Prosecutor’s Office and Clarkston Police Department, charging him with Attempted First-Degree Murder.

The charges stem from a June 2 incident in which a Motel 6 employee was stabbed. Clarkston Police investigators identified Krogman as a suspect following two days of gathering information and evidence. Authorities say the stabbing was not a random act, citing a personal connection between Krogman and the victim. The motive remains under investigation, and officials are working to determine whether any accomplices were involved.

Assisting in the investigation, the Lewiston Police Department provided key support through the use of FLOCK camera technology and automated license plate recognition systems. These tools enabled officers to capture images of the suspect’s vehicle and its license plate.

Clarkston Police also credited the Gillette Police Department for their quick response in arresting Krogman. Interim Chief Josh Daniel acknowledged the collaborative efforts of all agencies involved in ensuring public safety.
