NAMPA, ID – The Idaho State Police is investigating a fatal crash involving three vehicles that occurred late Friday night, June 7, at the intersection of Riverside Road and State Highway 55, west of Nampa.
The crash took place at approximately 11:19 p.m. when a blue 1999 Ford Escort, driven by a 59-year-old man from Boise, failed to stop at the intersection and entered the highway. The vehicle collided with a northbound silver 2025 Toyota Tundra, driven by a 47-year-old man from Pasco, Washington. A 50-year-old woman from Pasco was also in the Tundra.
A third vehicle, a gray 2022 Honda Civic, driven by a 23-year-old woman from Port Aransas, Texas, was traveling southbound on Highway 55 and swerved off the road in an attempt to avoid the crash.
The driver of the Ford Escort was pronounced dead at the scene. The Escort’s passenger, a 29-year-old woman from Greenleaf, and the Tundra’s occupants sustained minor injuries and were transported to a local hospital. The driver of the Honda Civic was not injured. All individuals were wearing seat belts.
The intersection was closed for about two and a half hours as emergency personnel responded and cleared the scene. The incident remains under investigation.
