WENATCHEE, WA — The manhunt for Travis Decker has entered a new phase as updated photos are released, roadblocks are lifted, and the Washington National Guard joins the effort to locate the triple murder suspect.
On Friday evening, Washington Governor Bob Ferguson announced he is tapping emergency funds and activating the Washington National Guard to assist in the ongoing search. National Guard personnel are providing helicopter transport to support law enforcement operations in remote and rugged areas at the request of the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).
“As a parent, my heart goes out to Paityn, Evelyn, and Olivia’s mom, Whitney, and all those who love them,” said Governor Ferguson. “The brutal murder of these young children has shocked our state. I’m committed to supporting law enforcement as they seek justice.”
The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office released updated photos of Decker on Friday evening, warning that he is considered dangerous and may be armed. He was last seen wearing a tan or green t-shirt and dark shorts. Residents are urged not to approach him and to call 911 immediately if he is seen.
As of June 7, CCSO confirmed that roadblocks along Icicle River Road have been removed after determining there is no longer a credible threat in that specific area. However, officials cautioned that the investigation remains active and residents should stay alert as they return to local recreational areas.
Hundreds of officers, deputies, and agents from multiple agencies continue to search dozens of structures, waterways, and forested areas. More than 500 public tips have been received, leading to new search efforts and the execution of additional warrants.
Authorities continue to encourage residents and visitors to review doorbell cameras, trail footage, and outdoor surveillance for any potential sightings of Decker. Anyone spending time in rural or wooded areas is urged to report suspicious activity and take note of locations, times, and details.
