PULLMAN, WA – A Washington State University Associate Professor has been arrested for allegedly ramming another vehicle three times during a road rage incident Friday afternoon.
Pullman Police responded to the violent road rage call around 4:00 on SE Terre View Drive North of the Moscow-Pullman Highway. Officers determined that 55 year old Michael Edwards of Pullman was following another vehicle heading Westbound on the highway. He allegedly rammed the back of the other car as they were turning right off the highway. Edwards then pulled into oncoming traffic alongside the victim’s vehicle and reportedly rammed the car again from the side and forced it off the road.
Officers say he got in front of the victim’s car and slammed his brakes forcing the other car to rear end him causing a third collision. That’s when Edwards called Pullman Police to report that he was the victim of a rear end crash. Officers used Washington State University campus surveillance cameras to determine that Edwards was responsible for the collisions. Three adults were in the vehicle that he allegedly rammed. One of the passengers suffered minor injuries.
Edwards was arrested and booked into the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office Jail in Colfax on 2nd degree felony assault.
