Orofino Man Arrested After Investigation into Police Impersonation Reports

OROFINO, ID – The Orofino Police Department has arrested a local man in connection with a series of reports involving police impersonation in the area.

On May 23, 2025, the department issued a public alert after receiving multiple reports about a man impersonating a peace officer. The suspect was described at the time as a short-statured male with salt-and-pepper hair, a trimmed blonde beard, and driving a tan or burnt orange four-door sedan. Residents were advised not to pull over for the vehicle and to contact law enforcement if approached.

Following an investigation, police identified the suspect as 48-year-old T.J. Flinn of Orofino. On June 9, 2025, Flinn was taken into custody and charged with Impersonating a Peace Officer under Idaho Code 18-711 and Disturbing the Peace under Idaho Code 18-6409.

The Orofino Police Department thanked the public for its patience and cooperation throughout the investigation.
