PULLMAN, WA – New Washington State University President Betsy Cantwell continues to make changes to the administration as institution spokesman Phil Weiler is being replaced.
WSU announced Tuesday morning that the recently hired Pam Scott will be taking over marketing and communications. Scott had been working as Eastern Washington University’s Media Relations Director. Before that she worked as Associate Vice President for Media Relations at the University of Arizona. Scott and Cantwell worked together in Tucson. Scott’s resume includes V.P. of Corporate Communications at the Red Lion Hotels Corporation. She arrived at WSU about a month ago to work as V.P. for System Communications and Strategy.
Scott replaces Weiler who was university spokesman since 2017 under former President Kirk Schulz. The WSU administration in their announcement stated that the institution is committed to supporting Weiler and is working closely with him during this transition.
