Southern Idaho Man Charged in 2015 Cold Case Homicide

NAMPA, ID – After more than nine years of investigation, the Nampa Police Department has made an arrest in connection with a 2015 homicide that occurred in the 4000 block of Garrity Boulevard.

Mark Adrian Neal, 54, of Nampa, has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Akrian G. Evans. The original incident occurred on March 14, 2015. Neal was already in custody at the Canyon County Jail on unrelated charges when the new charge was filed.

Nampa Police said the investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may still be filed.

The department credited the dedication of investigators and the support of partnering agencies for helping advance the case over the years.

“This arrest demonstrates our unwavering commitment to seeking justice, no matter how much time has passed,” said Nampa Police Chief Joe Huff. “Our thoughts are with the victim’s family, and we hope this development brings them some measure of closure.”

The victim’s family has been notified of the arrest.
