LAPWAI, ID – A 10-year-old child was hospitalized Tuesday after being struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross Lapwai Road, according to the Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident occurred on June 10 in the 3900 block of Lapwai Road. Authorities say the child was crossing the roadway when the collision happened. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported the child to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.

Officials confirmed the child sustained non-life-threatening injuries and received medical treatment.

The Sheriff’s Office has not released further details about the driver or circumstances surrounding the incident.
