North Idaho Operation Leads to Multiple Child Predator Arrests

BONNERS FERRY, ID – The Boundary County Sheriff’s Office has announced the results of a recent undercover operation targeting child predators, which led to the arrest of three individuals and the identification of multiple ongoing cases.

The three-day operation concluded on June 7 and focused on suspects using online platforms to engage in predatory behavior toward minors. The following individuals were arrested:

  • Jaccob Johnson – Charged with one felony count of enticing a child under 16.
  • Jose Estrada Campuzano – Charged with one felony count of enticing a child under 16 and one felony count of attempted kidnapping.
  • Shawn Vigil – Charged with one felony count of attempted kidnapping.

Additional suspects have been identified in connection with the investigation. One individual is facing 11 felony counts of sending pornographic material to a minor and one count of enticing a child under 16. Two others are each facing a single felony count of child enticement. Authorities say further charges are expected as the investigations continue.

The operation was carried out with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service, Kootenai Tribe of Idaho Law Enforcement, U.S. Border Patrol, and Veterans for Child Rescue.

“We are committed to protecting our youth and ensuring accountability for those who seek to harm them,” Sheriff Travis Stolley said. “This operation reflects our dedication to the safety of Boundary County and the strength of our partnerships.”

The Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone with information about related activities to come forward. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
