Western Washington Cold Case Team Makes First Arrest in Indigenous Murder Investigation

SEATTLE, WA – Washington’s Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and People (MMIWP) Cold Case Unit has made its first arrest and filed charges in a cold case investigation since the unit was created in 2023, according to an announcement from Attorney General Nick Brown.

Tina Marie Alcorn has been charged with second-degree murder in the 2016 death of George David, a 65-year-old resident of Neah Bay and member of the Clayoquot Indian Band of Vancouver Island, British Columbia. David was found deceased in a Port Angeles apartment on March 28, 2016, where he had been staying temporarily while traveling to attend a funeral and visit family in Canada.

On May 21, 2025, the Clallam County Superior Court issued a warrant for Alcorn’s arrest following the charges filed by the Attorney General’s Office. Alcorn was taken into custody on June 3 in West Helena, Arkansas, with the assistance of the Phillips County Sheriff’s Office. She was extradited to Washington and made her initial court appearance in Clallam County Superior Court on June 10.

“This is a milestone on a long path toward accountability,” Brown stated. “The Legislature funded this work because so many people would not give up the pursuit of justice for their loved ones.”

David’s death was initially investigated by the Port Angeles Police Department. Alcorn had been identified as a primary suspect early in the investigation. She was arrested in April 2016 in Mount Vernon, Washington, on an unrelated warrant from Arkansas and later extradited for violating probation tied to a felony theft conviction. No homicide charges were filed at that time.

In 2024, the Port Angeles Police Department sought the assistance of the MMIWP Cold Case Unit. The team conducted further analysis, including DNA testing with support from the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab. The additional evidence contributed to the recent filing of charges.

The Attorney General’s Office will prosecute the case with the support of the Clallam County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Officials emphasized that the charges remain allegations, and Alcorn is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
