HAILEY, ID – The Idaho Transportation Board has approved additional funding for the State Highway 75 corridor north of Hailey, advancing a key infrastructure project aimed at relieving congestion and improving safety in the region.
At its June meeting, the board accepted staff recommendations to prioritize several transportation corridors using Transportation Expansion and Congestion Mitigation (TECM) funds. Among the projects selected is the stretch of SH-75 from McKercher Boulevard to Broadway Run, which has been identified for advanced construction.
The project will expand the roadway to two lanes in each direction and add a continuous center turn lane. Pedestrian improvements are also planned to enhance safety.
Funding for the expansion comes from House Bill 25, passed by the Idaho Legislature earlier this year. The bill adds $20 million annually to the TECM fund for the next three years, enabling continued investment in high-priority transportation improvements across the state.
The SH-75 project will be included in the draft Idaho Transportation Investment Program (ITIP), which outlines planned transportation work from 2026 through 2032. The public will have the opportunity to comment on the draft ITIP during a statewide feedback period in July.
This development builds on past TECM investments, such as the ongoing widening of I-84 from Jerome to Twin Falls, and reflects the board’s continued focus on addressing congestion and capacity along major corridors.
