Labrador Visits North Idaho to Discuss Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Collaboration

POST FALLS, ID — Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador visited North Idaho this week to strengthen collaborative efforts between his office and local law enforcement agencies in the fight against child exploitation.

The visit included participation in the Idaho Chiefs of Police Association Conference, a mental health training session for investigators with the Idaho Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, and a meeting with Post Falls Police Department leadership.

During the conference, Labrador met with police chiefs to discuss ways his office can support local agencies, particularly on investigations and prosecutions involving internet crimes targeting minors. He emphasized the importance of maintaining partnerships statewide to bolster child protection efforts.

The Attorney General also took part in the ICAC Task Force’s biannual Mental Health and Resiliency Training, conducted by Dr. Alex Crampton and Dr. Ross Ginkel. These sessions aim to support investigators who regularly confront graphic and distressing content in the course of their duties. Labrador underscored the importance of ensuring mental health support for staff engaged in such work.

In a separate meeting, Labrador spoke with Post Falls Police Captains Mark Brantl and Jason Mealer about continued cooperation between the department and the ICAC Task Force. The Attorney General’s ICAC Unit is part of a broader coalition involving federal, state, and local agencies dedicated to investigating and prosecuting internet crimes against children.

The Attorney General’s Office maintains ICAC investigators across Idaho and hosts team-wide trainings in various regions to accommodate the geographically dispersed staff.

No new policy announcements were made during the visit. The events were part of an ongoing effort to support personnel and enhance interagency collaboration on child exploitation investigations.
