MOSCOW, ID – The Moscow Police Department is investigating a reported scam involving a fake summer camp fundraiser allegedly conducted by three teenage males earlier this week.
According to police, the teens were seen going door-to-door on June 9 and 10 in the neighborhoods around Conestoga Street, Orchard Avenue, and Panorama Street. They were reportedly soliciting donations for a summer camp they claimed was sponsored by Palouse Prairie Charter School.
However, officers have since confirmed that no such summer camp exists and that the school is not affiliated with any fundraising campaign of this nature.
Authorities are now asking anyone who may have been contacted by the individuals—or who may have video footage of the teens canvassing the area—to come forward. They are particularly interested in speaking with residents who may have given money.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Officer Summers at 208-883-7065 and reference case number 25-M04789.
The department reminds the public to verify the legitimacy of charitable causes before donating.
