MOSCOW, ID – Prime Video has announced the upcoming release of a four-part true crime docuseries, One Night in Idaho: The College Murders, chronicling the 2022 stabbing deaths of four University of Idaho students. The series premieres July 11 and delves into the investigation, public reaction, and lasting impact of the tragedy that gripped the nation.
The murders occurred in the early morning hours of November 13, 2022, at an off-campus residence in Moscow, Idaho. The brutal nature of the killings and the subsequent media firestorm led to one of the most widely followed true crime cases in recent history, marked by intense online speculation, a cross-country manhunt, and a high-profile arrest.
Directed by Liz Garbus (Lost Girls, I’ll Be Gone in the Dark) and Matthew Galkin (Murder in the Bayou), the docuseries features exclusive interviews with those closest to the victims, including Ethan Chapin’s parents, Stacey and Jim Chapin, and Madison Mogen’s parents, Karen and Scott Laramie. The production aims to present a sensitive and human-centered narrative while exploring the broader societal responses to the case.
Produced by Amazon MGM Studios in collaboration with Skydance Television, Story Syndicate, James Patterson Entertainment, and Fairhaven, the project brings together an extensive team of executive producers, including Garbus, Galkin, Katie A. King, David Ellison, and best-selling author James Patterson.
One Night in Idaho: The College Murders will be available exclusively on Prime Video starting July 11. A trailer and promotional images are currently available through Amazon MGM Studios’ press channels.
