Spokane Man Arrested on Multiple Child Sex Crime Charges

SPOKANE, WA – A Spokane man has been arrested following an extensive investigation into the sexual exploitation of minors. The Washington State Patrol’s Eastern Washington Missing and Exploited Children Task Force (MECTF) announced the arrest of 34-year-old Andre Smolyar on multiple charges related to child sex crimes.

Smolyar was booked into the Spokane County Jail and faces charges including promoting a suicide attempt, possession and viewing of depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct, and communication with a minor for immoral purposes under Washington State law.

During the investigation, detectives recovered digital and physical evidence indicating that Smolyar may have committed additional forcible sexual assaults against minors. Authorities further revealed that he operated under multiple online identities, which he allegedly used to communicate with minors across several states.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims in Spokane, Washington, as well as in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Orange County, California.
