LEWISTON, ID – At approximately 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Lewiston Police and the Lewiston Fire Department were dispatched to the 3400 block of 5th Street following reports of a vehicle colliding with a bicycle.
Upon arrival, authorities found that the juvenile male bicyclist, who sustained minor injuries, was treated at the scene. The individual was later transported to the hospital by a private vehicle as a precaution.
The investigation revealed that the juvenile had entered the roadway and was struck by a northbound Chevy Tahoe, driven by a resident of Clarkston. No citations were issued following the investigation.
Authorities are urging parents and caregivers to engage in discussions with children about the importance of traffic safety.
