MERIDIAN, ID – The Idaho State Police (ISP) announced Friday that the motorcyclist who fled from troopers at speeds exceeding 150 miles per hour on Interstate 84 has been identified, thanks to numerous tips from the public following last week’s request for assistance.
The June 4 incident involved a black Suzuki Hayabusa whose rider evaded law enforcement twice in one afternoon, prompting serious public safety concerns. Following the release of surveillance images and a public call for help, ISP received multiple credible leads.
The suspect voluntarily turned himself in to authorities on the afternoon of June 13. ISP stated that, after a brief interview, criminal charges will be filed through the Ada County Prosecutor’s Office.
“We’re thankful for the public’s engagement, including the spirited comments we saw on social media,” said District 3 Captain Michael Winans. “People are fed up with this type of dangerous riding behavior, and I think it directly contributed to the high number of tips we received. Reckless riding isn’t only illegal—it’s a growing threat to public safety. We appreciate those who stepped up to do the right thing.”
No further details about the suspect or pending charges will be released at this time as the case proceeds through the judicial system.
ISP expressed appreciation to both the public and the media for their support and assistance in resolving the case.
