MOSCOW, ID – Eight attorneys have applied for the Latah County Magistrate Judge vacancy in Moscow.
The seat was vacated in May when former Magistrate Judge Megan Marshall was appointed to the upper Latah County 2nd District Court felony bench in Moscow by Governor Brad Little. That post opened when former Judge John Judge retired in January.
The applicants are Moscow City Prosecutor Reed Brevig, Benewah County Chief Deputy Prosecutor Aaron Freudenthal of St. Maries, Moscow attorney Sandra Lockett, Lewis County Prosecutor Zach Pall of Nezperce, Nez Perce County Senior Judicial Staff Attorney Kelley Porter of Lewiston, Nez Perce County Magistrate Judge Sunil Ramalingam of Lewiston, Idaho Public Defender’s Office trial attorney Donald Terry of Sandpoint and Moscow attorney Erin Tomlin.
The Idaho State Supreme Court has launched a public comment period to gather input on the applicants. It ends on July 7th and you can find a link for the comment form here.
The Idaho Magistrate Commission of the 2nd Judicial District will identify the finalists to be interviewed on July 21st before making the appointment.
