JEROME COUNTY, ID – Idaho State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred Sunday afternoon when a pickup truck went off the northwest viewpoint near the Perrine Bridge on U.S. Highway 93.

Troopers responded to the scene around 3:30 p.m., where they found a green 1995 Ford Ranger that had fallen into the canyon after striking multiple surfaces during the descent.

The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the driver has not been released. The Jerome County Coroner’s Office has taken custody of the deceased and completing their investigation.

The Jerome County Sheriff’s Office and the Twin Falls Police Department also responded to the scene. The roadway has since reopened to normal traffic.

The crash remains under investigation.
