Trump Directs ICE to Expand Deportation Efforts in ‘Sanctuary Cities’

WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Donald Trump on Sunday called on federal immigration officers to furhter prioritize deportations in Democratic-led cities.  Trump issued the directive following large-scale protests across the country.

In a lengthy post on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump ordered U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents “to do all in their power to achieve the very important goal of delivering the single largest Mass Deportation Program in History.”

Trump’s statement identified cities such as Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York as primary targets for expanded immigration enforcement, citing their designation as “sanctuary cities” and claiming they are central to what he called the “Democrat Power Center.”

“Every day, the Brave Men and Women of ICE are subjected to violence, harassment, and even threats from Radical Democrat Politicians,” Trump wrote, adding that his administration would focus on “crime ridden and deadly Inner Cities” as part of this new directive.

The post, which came after a weekend of demonstrations labeled the “no kings” protests, showed no sign that Trump was deterred by the public backlash. In it, he criticized Democratic leaders, accused them of supporting policies he believes harm American citizens, and called for broad support from federal law enforcement agencies, including ICE, FBI, DEA, ATF, and others.

The directive included language accusing undocumented immigrants of contributing to urban crime and overburdening social systems, and claimed that Democratic leaders use immigration to “expand their Voter Base, cheat in Elections, and grow the Welfare State.”
