POST FALLS, ID – A confrontation at a Post Falls park on Monday morning led to a gunshot being fired and the arrest of a local man, according to the Post Falls Police Department.
At approximately 11:30 a.m. on June 16, Post Falls police received several 911 calls reporting an incident at Black Bay Park on 3rd Avenue. One caller stated he was holding a male suspect at gunpoint.
According to police, responding officers secured the scene and began an investigation. According to police, a citizen observed a man vandalizing park property and confronted him. The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Post Falls resident Micah Cramer, reportedly retrieved a metal pipe from his vehicle and threatened the citizen.
Police say the citizen then produced a handgun. Police say Cramer continued to approach the armed individual, who responded by firing a warning shot into the ground. Cramer then complied and remained on the ground until officers arrived.
Cramer was arrested on charges of felony malicious injury to property and aggravated assault. The citizen who discharged the firearm was not charged.
