UI Presents 25 Year Long Range Campus Development Plan to Idaho State Board of Education

MOSCOW, ID – The University of Idaho presented it’s 25 year Long Range Campus Development Plan to the Idaho State Board of Education this week.

The work began in February of last year when the UI hired a consulting firm to develop the plan for Moscow campus growth and improvements.  The process is called “Vision 2050” and included thousands of stakeholder surveys along with forums and town hall meetings.

The plan lists 51 potential projects which would add over three million square feet of UI campus facilities.  The consultants identified about a dozen priority projects.  Those strategic high priority projects include a new science and engineering research complex, parking improvements, 6th street pedestrian mall, renovation of Memorial Gym, an academic building, Vandal Tennis Center and a new West concourse for the P1FCU Kibbie Dome.  The planning documents to the board don’t include cost estimates for the potential projects.
