Manhunt for Travis Decker Enters Fourth Week in Central Washington

WENATCHEE, WA – Authorities in central Washington continue a determined search for Travis Decker, the 32-year-old man suspected of murdering his three daughters, who has been missing for more than three weeks.

The Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) issued an update Friday afternoon, affirming that deputies and detectives are working daily alongside the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) and several regional and federal partners to locate and arrest Decker. The manhunt has included human search teams, K9 units, aerial surveillance, and ground crews canvassing rugged terrain.

Decker was last seen in early June after he failed to return his daughters to their mother following a scheduled visitation. The girls were later found near Decker’s abandoned truck in the Teanaway area of Kittitas County. The discovery of the murdered girls triggered a multi-agency operation that has since focused on the Ingalls Creek and Valley High regions—remote, mountainous areas in Chelan and Kittitas counties.

Decker, a military veteran, had reportedly been struggling with mental health issues before his disappearance. His ex-wife, Whitney Decker, reported the girls missing on May 30, prompting law enforcement to begin what has become an increasingly urgent and resource-intensive operation.

In Friday’s statement, KCSO acknowledged the public’s intense interest in the case but emphasized the importance of protecting the integrity of the ongoing investigation.

“There is a strong public thirst for information about this crime and this search,” the statement said. “But our focus is on the task at hand: finding Decker.”

Authorities are urging residents and visitors in the Teanaway, Blewett, and Liberty areas to be alert for any unusual activity on their property—such as missing items or signs of trespassing. Property owners with security cameras are asked to review their footage or allow deputies access to it. Anyone who sees Travis Decker is instructed to call 911 immediately.

The investigation has drawn support from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Moses Lake Police Department, Adams County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Forest Service, Yakima Office of Emergency Management, and Ellensburg Police Department. The Washington Army National Guard and U.S. Marshals Service have also been involved in the search efforts.

A $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to Decker’s arrest.

“We’re deeply grateful for the support of our community in this long and difficult mission,” the KCSO statement read. “Your encouragement means more than you can imagine.”
