Homeless Woman Arrested After Stabbing Near Lewiston Levee Bypass

LEWISTON, ID –  A woman was arrested Saturday afternoon after an alleged stabbing along Levee Bypass in Lewiston.

According to the Lewiston Police Department, officers responded around 3:00 p.m. on June 21 to a report of a stabbing involving two individuals in a dating relationship. The male victim told police he was stabbed by a 41-year-old woman, later identified as Jamie L. Hopper, during an encounter near Clearwater Landing, located along the Clearwater River across from the Port of Lewiston.

The victim reported that Hopper was initially friendly when he approached, but she became hostile after being confronted about alleged infidelity. He told police she “flipped out,” armed herself with a pair of turquoise-handled scissors, and charged at him. As he turned to run, she stabbed him in the upper right back and right tricep area, leaving two shallow puncture wounds.

The victim was treated at the scene by medics.

Hopper was later located and arrested nearby. During a post-arrest search, officers reportedly found a used pipe with burnt marijuana residue, a needle, and an empty marijuana dispensary container in her possession. In addition to a charge of felony aggravated battery, she was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Hopper was booked into the Nez Perce County Jail.  She appeared in Nez Perce County Court on Monday. Bond was set at $100,000.
