Washington, D.C. – The American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU) announced on Monday that Lewis-Clark State College’s Logan Fowler has been selected to participate in its Emerging Leaders Program.
Fowler has served as LC State’s director of communications and marketing since 2015 and was recently promoted to the role of chief communications and marketing/state and local affairs officer.
Fowler is one of 37 participants from across the nation in this year’s program, which is in its tenth year. The program includes an intensive, in-person component taking place in Washington, D.C., June 24-26. Throughout the year, participants will participate in interactive online sessions.
“We are excited that Mr. Fowler will have the opportunity to participate in this prestigious program,” LC State President Cynthia Pemberton said. “In his role, he has been a tremendous asset to the institution over the years and I believe he has even greater potential to positively impact LC State and higher education in Idaho.”
Fowler oversees LC State’s communications, marketing, and public relations efforts. His marketing and advertising leadership has played an important role in helping to stabilize and spur strategic growth in enrollment at a time when many similar small rural institutions are seeing sharp enrollment declines. Last spring, LC State’s headcount jumped an unprecedented 11.2%, after a 3.5% increase in the fall, attracting 3,881 students, the third most in school history.
AASCU is a Washington, D.C.-based higher education association that represents the sector of over 500 regional public colleges, universities, and systems whose members share a learning- and teaching-centered culture, and a dedication to research and creativity that advances their regions’ economic progress.
Fowler, 38, is a 2008 summa cum laude graduate of Lewis-Clark State College, earning a degree in business administration. He earned a master’s in business administration at Idaho State University.
