PULLMAN, WA – The 45-year-old Pullman man suspected of slashing dozens of tires on College Hill last winter has been convicted by a jury in one case.
A Whitman County Superior Court Jury on Tuesday found Benjamin Rinehart guilty of felony vandalism, 2nd degree malicious mischief. Rinehart was arrested by Pullman Police in January for slashing the tires on a vehicle in the Spaulding Street area. He was caught on a surveillance camera slashing the tires on a vehicle that he slashed earlier that same week. The female victim had placed the camera to watch her vehicle after her tires were slashed the first time.
Pullman Police suspect that Rinehart slashed dozens of other tires on College Hill last winter. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Friday.
