MOSCOW, ID – The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, June 30, to mark the completion of the long-anticipated realignment of U.S. Highway 95 between Thorn Creek and Moscow.
Governor Brad Little is scheduled to join ITD officials and community members for the event, which will take place on the newly constructed four-lane section of highway toward the north end of the project near Moscow. Attendees will have the opportunity to drive the new alignment prior to the ceremony.
The project, originally proposed in 1999, broke ground in 2022. The realignment shifts the highway east of its original curving, two-lane route and expands it to four lanes with improved safety features. These include a flatter grade, reduced curves, and better access control.
The new corridor was partially funded by Governor Little’s “Leading Idaho” initiative and is expected to enhance both traffic flow and safety for drivers in the region.
More details and directions to the event site can be found at the project’s website: https://itdprojects.idaho.gov/pages/us95thorncreektomoscow.
