PULLMAN, WA – Acting Pullman Police Commander Ruben Harris has been promoted to the post permanently.
Harris was promoted to acting commander in March during the fallout from the scandal involving former Police Chief Jake Opgenorth. Opgenorth was placed on paid administrative leave in December due to misconduct involving his mistress. He later resigned and then Commander Aaron Breshears was promoted to acting chief. In May Breshears was promoted to permanent chief.
On Tuesday Harris will be sworn in as the permanent Pullman Police Commander. Acting Sgt. Brock Westerman will be sworn in to that post permanently as well on Tuesday. Westerman was promoted to acting sargeant when Harris was promoted to acting commander in March.
