WENDELL, IDAHO – A crash in southern Idaho on Thursday resulted in the death of a 68-year-old motorcyclist after a collision with a semi-truck.
The incident occurred around 5:38 p.m. at the intersection of Main Street and Idaho Street in Wendell. Police say a 21-year-old male from Twin Falls was driving a 1998 Kenworth semi-truck northbound on Idaho Street, pulling a trailer. At the same time, a 68-year-old man from Wendell was riding northbound on a 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Both vehicles attempted to turn right onto Main Street when the motorcycle collided with the passenger side of the semi.
Despite wearing a helmet, the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver of the semi-truck was unharmed in the crash.
The roadway was completely blocked for approximately three hours as emergency crews worked to assist those involved and clear the scene. Idaho State Police are investigating.
