SPOKANE COUNTY, WA — Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Detectives have arrested a 40-year-old Spokane man in connection to a drive-by shooting that occurred in Medical Lake in December 2024.
On the morning of June 26, 2025, detectives, with assistance from the SWAT team, served a search warrant at a residence in the 2400 block of East Wellesley Avenue. Anthony M. Gallup was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Spokane County Jail on charges of felony drive-by shooting and misdemeanor harassment.
The investigation began on December 13, 2024, after deputies responded to multiple reports of gunfire near North Washington Street and East Spence Street in Medical Lake. Upon arrival, deputies discovered that a parked vehicle had been struck several times by gunfire. No injuries were reported.
According to the adult male and female victims, the shooting may have stemmed from an ongoing conflict involving the female victim’s ex-boyfriend. They told investigators they believed Gallup, who had allegedly been threatening and harassing them, was responsible. Witnesses reported seeing an SUV leave the scene, though no suspect was initially identified.
Deputies interviewed Gallup shortly after the incident. He acknowledged knowing the victims and admitted to arguing with them but denied involvement in the shooting. He claimed he was intoxicated at home the night of the incident and stated he did not own an SUV.
Without sufficient evidence at the time, no arrest was made. However, detectives continued investigating the case over several months, ultimately gathering probable cause for Gallup’s arrest.
The case remains under investigation.
