BOISE, ID – Bryan Kohberger, the man accused of killing four University of Idaho students in November 2022, has reportedly agreed to a plea deal that would result in life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.
ABC News is reporting that Kohberger will be sentenced to four consecutive life sentences and waives all right to appeal. The agreement was revealed in a letter sent to the victims’ families.
Kohberger, 30, is charged with the murders of Madison Mogen, 21, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Ethan Chapin, 20. The students were found dead in a rented off-campus home in the early morning hours of November 13, 2022. Authorities allege Kohberger entered the residence and carried out the killings during a home invasion around 4 a.m.
Kohberger was a criminology graduate student at Washington State University at the time of the killings and was arrested in Pennsylvania in December 2022. He has remained in custody in Idaho since his extradition in early 2023.
A trial had been set to get underway in August.
