DNA Links Travis Decker to Crime Scene as Search Operations Continue in Chelan and Kittitas Counties

CHELAN COUNTY, WA – Authorities are continuing an intensive search for Travis Decker, who is wanted by law enforcement and considered armed and dangerous. The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading directly to his arrest.

According to an update from the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, blood samples found in the suspect’s truck have been confirmed by the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab to match DNA from personal items believed to belong to Decker. All evidence collected at the scene points to a single male suspect.

Law enforcement and volunteer search teams, including K9 units and drone teams, have been conducting coordinated search operations across Chelan and Kittitas counties. Last week, teams searched the Crystal Creek and Ingalls Creek drainage areas using human remains detection dogs and drones, along with approximately 25 volunteers from Chelan County Volunteer Search and Rescue.

Officials say there is no current evidence to suggest that Decker is deceased or in custody. Efforts will continue until he is found. The National Park Service also plans to conduct searches of nearby water bodies using their swift water search and rescue teams.

Anyone who sees Travis Decker is urged not to approach him and to call 911 immediately. Those with information should contact the U.S. Marshals Service at 1-800-336-0102 or visit www.usmarshals.gov/tips.
