Camper Trailer Slides Off Forest Service Road in Clearwater County, No Injuries Reported

CLEARWATER COUNTY, ID – A camper trailer went over an embankment near Bungalow Bridge on Forest Service Road 250 following a traffic incident on June 30, according to the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office.

The trailer was being towed by Bennet J. Stringham, 72, of Reno, Nevada. Authorities say Stringham had moved toward the shoulder to pass an oncoming vehicle also towing a trailer attachment when his own trailer began to slide off the road.

Stringham was able to disconnect the trailer from his vehicle before it went over the embankment. He was not injured in the incident, and no other vehicles were damaged.

The road near Bungalow Bridge is a narrow, winding mountain route commonly used by campers and recreational vehicles. The Sheriff’s Office has not reported any environmental hazards or road closures as a result of the incident.
