MOSCOW, ID – A resurfacing project is set to begin Monday, July 7, affecting major routes through Moscow, including U.S. Highway 95, Washington Street, and a portion of State Highway 8.
According to the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD), US-95 will be resurfaced between State Highway 8 and Rodeo Drive, while SH-8 will see work from W. 7th Street eastward to East Veatch Street.
Most of the resurfacing will take place during nighttime hours, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., to minimize daytime disruptions. At least one lane will remain open during nighttime work, and lanes will largely be open throughout the day. However, parking along Washington Street will be restricted overnight during construction.
Pedestrians should also expect temporary sidewalk closures near the northeast corner of Seventh Street. Curb and sidewalk improvements in that area will require detours for foot traffic.
The total cost of the project is estimated at $2.9 million, with completion anticipated by late August.
For updated traffic conditions and project impacts, travelers are encouraged to visit 511.idaho.gov, call 5-1-1, or use the mobile app.
A map of the impacted zones is available from ITD here.
