Truck Destroyed by Fire West of Clarkston

Vehicle Fire in Asotin County 7-2-25

CLARKSTON, WA – A pickup truck was destroyed by fire Wednesday afternoon near the Snake River in west Clarkston, according to Asotin County Fire District #1.

Firefighters were dispatched around 3 p.m. to the intersection of Elm Street and Highway 12, where they found a Ford pickup with the cab and engine compartment fully engulfed in flames.

Initial reports indicated the fire may have spread to a nearby field, but those reports were determined to be unfounded. Fire crews quickly contained the fire and remained on scene for approximately 45 minutes to extinguish hot spots.

The burning vehicle was located next to a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers public outhouse and information sign. The fire caused minor damage to the sign, and there was no significant damage to the outhouse.

The cause of the fire is undetermined. No injuries were reported.
