LAPWAI, ID – A grass fire broke out around 2:39 p.m. Thursday on Misner Road near Lapwai. The Lapwai Volunteer Fire Department and Nez Perce Tribal Fire responded quickly and were able to contain the blaze before it reached any structures.

No injuries were reported, and no buildings were damaged.

With continued dry conditions in the area, fire officials are urging residents to stay cautious and take steps to prevent wildfires.
