LEWISTON, ID – A Lewiston man wanted on multiple warrants was arrested Saturday, July 5, following several days on the run, according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.
Justin Lee Rock, 40, was taken into custody after deputies located him days after he fled from law enforcement near Red Bird Beach along the Snake River. Rock was wanted on a felony warrant for witness intimidation with a $250,000 bond and two misdemeanor warrants for stalking and domestic battery, bringing his total bond to $260,500, according to authorities in Nez Perce County.
The felony charge stems from a June 3 incident in Lewiston. According to court documents filed in Nez Perce County, Rock is accused of harassing the victim in a domestic battery case pending against him.
Lewiston Police responded to a report alleging Rock had sent her multiple text messages, made dozens of phone calls, and sent an email containing hostile and accusatory language. The victim told police she believed Rock was trying to pressure her into not testifying against him.
Court documents say the victim also reported being followed by Rock in his vehicle.
Police said the content of the messages from Rock to the victim, combined with Rock’s actions, provided probable cause for a felony charge of witness intimidation.
On July 1, deputies attempted to arrest Rock at a remote campsite along the Snake River. He fled into a canyon and evaded capture, prompting an hours-long search that ended without an arrest until he was taken into custody in Lewis County on Saturday.
Rock was expected to be booked into the Nez Perce County Jail and appear in court this week.
