LEWISTON, ID – Lewis-Clark State College will host its fourth annual “Consent of the Governed: Student Democracy Day” on Monday, August 4, offering students a full day of hands-on learning about the democratic process and local government.

The day’s activities include meetings with Lewiston Mayor Dan Johnson and a tour of the Lewiston Tribune led by editor and publisher Nathan Alford. Students may also have the opportunity to visit Hells Gate State Park.
Organized by LC State political science professors Kylee Britzman and Leif Hoffmann, the event aims to help students understand how local democracy functions, explore the political process, and consider political science as a potential field of study.
Students must register by 5 p.m. on July 31 by emailing Britzman at kjbritzman@lcsc.edu and Hoffmann at lshoffmann@lcsc.edu. Participants are asked to bring a sack lunch.
