Clarkston Man Arrested After Allegedly Threatening Family with Knife

CLARKSTON, WA – A Clarkston man was arrested Wednesday evening after allegedly threatening to kill others while holding a knife during a confrontation on Monroe Street.

Trenton J. Meeds, 39, was taken into custody by Clarkston Police on July 10 following reports that he had made violent threats toward relatives and was armed during the encounter. Officers responded to the 500 block of Monroe Street around 7:00 p.m., where the incident was initially reported.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, the suspect arrived at a family member’s home intoxicated and began making demands. When denied entry, Meeds allegedly pulled out a knife and issued threats to kill the residents, according to witnesses.

A male witness at the residence confirmed hearing the threats from inside the home. Both adults present described the suspect as having a history of violent behavior and expressed fear that he might act on his statements.

Police located Meeds a short time later at his home on 14th Street. Officers reported that he appeared intoxicated, had slurred speech, and showed signs of recent alcohol use. A silver-handled pocket knife, consistent with witness descriptions, was found in his back pocket and seized as evidence.

Meeds was arrested without incident and booked into the Asotin County Jail. He faces three counts of harassment—threats to kill—and one count of unlawful display of a weapon capable of producing bodily harm.
