MOSES LAKE, WA — A 17-year-old male was taken into custody Thursday as part of a parallel investigation stemming from a homicide case, according to the Moses Lake Police Department.
Detectives discovered suspected child sexual abuse material while examining a suspect’s phone during a homicide investigation. This led to the launch of a separate case, and officers executed a search warrant on July 11 at a residence in the 2100 block of Willow Street.
The Moses Lake Regional Tactical Response Team assisted in taking the teen into custody. He was booked into juvenile detention on charges of Possession of Depictions of a Minor Engaged in Sexually Explicit Conduct.
Police say the investigation remains active, and no further details are being released at this time.
