SHOSHONE COUNTY, ID – A routine traffic stop in Shoshone County last week led to the discovery of a large quantity of cocaine and a handgun, according to a statement from the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office.
A Sheriff’s Deputy conducted the stop after observing a vehicle with three occupants. During the encounter, the deputy reported witnessing criminal behavior that justified a search of the vehicle. The subsequent search uncovered a substantial amount of cocaine and a firearm inside.
One of the individuals was arrested on an outstanding felony warrant for burglary originating from Illinois. A second occupant was taken into custody on charges of trafficking cocaine. The third individual was not mentioned as being arrested.
The case remains under investigation. No further details have been released at this time.
