WASHINGTON, D.C. – Sens. Mike Crapo and Jim Risch have signed onto a bill that would ban spending federal education dollars on “gender ideology.”

The Idaho Republicans say their two-page “Say No to Indoctrination Act”  would put a Jan. 20 executive order into federal law. President Donald Trump’s order says federal funds “shall not be used to promote gender ideology.”

In a news release Thursday, Crapo said, “Children should not be radicalized, indoctrinated or taught gender ideology in public elementary or secondary schools funded by federal tax dollars.”

Said Risch: “The ‘Say No to Indoctrination Act’ puts an end to woke education practices in K-12 schools and makes President Trump’s common-sense policy permanent.”

Five other Republican senators are co-sponsoring the bill: Ted Budd of North Carolina; Josh Hawley and Eric Schmitt of Missouri; Roger Marshall of Kansas; and Tommy Tuberville of Alabama.
