Meth and Marijuana Discovered During Grangeville Traffic Stop, One Arrested

GRANGEVILLE, ID – A late-night traffic stop in the Grangeville area led to the arrest of a 63-year-old man after deputies discovered methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia in his vehicle.

According to the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred around 11:54 p.m. on July 12, 2025, when a deputy patrolling Prairie Road observed a vehicle parked in a pullout. The deputy stopped to make consensual contact after noting the vehicle’s license plates did not match its make or model.

K9 Rip was deployed and alerted to the presence of narcotics. A search of the vehicle revealed methamphetamine, marijuana, and paraphernalia.

The driver, identified as Gari Grief, was arrested for felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia.

Officials noted that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
