Meth and Paraphernalia Found After Traffic Stop in Kooskia Leads to Felony Arrest

 

KOOSKIA, ID – A routine traffic stop in the Kooskia area on July 12, 2025, resulted in the arrest of a 48-year-old woman on multiple drug-related charges, according to the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 9:59 p.m., an Idaho County deputy conducting an Office of Highway Safety emphasis patrol pulled over a vehicle for a routine traffic offense. K9 Enzo and his handler responded to the scene, where the dog alerted to the presence of narcotics.

During a subsequent search of the vehicle, deputies discovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

The driver, Melaine Kleinsmith, was arrested for felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia, and misdemeanor concealment of evidence.

The Idaho County Sheriff’s Office emphasized that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
